Tea as we know it adrak wali or ilaichi, or cutting chai or maa ke haath ki chai..ya fir kadak chai. But today I had a chance to look at chai with a whole new perspective.. Yes..today at the Bloggers meet held by Tea Trails, ECR.
It was not just a bloggers meet it was a workshop on tea. We were exposed to variety of tea available in their menu from green tea, black tea and so much.
Also the combination of tea and the snacks served along with them and how they work together. The brewing time of tea and everything needs to be accurate to get that perfect flavour.
Let’s have a quick look at the kind of teas they offer.
Silver Needle very mildly flavoured and
is served with a sweet buttered bun called Bun Maska..tea is made with herbs and flowers and the Bun Maska you have to try that..I recommend!!
A flavour little stronger than the silver line but is soothing and goes well with Burmese salad and yes it the tea is served with crushed almonds which balanced the taste.
Olong tea had a mild taste and was served with tea infused eggs which actually looked like dinosaur eggs.
Don’t believe me..look at it
Black Tea, Lapsang Souchong:
A little strong on the palate but perfectly balanced by the amazing chicken/Paneer sandwich balancing the tea.
Then comes the typical Kulhar chai with pakoda and it needs no introduction does it??
Lychee Bubble Tea:
The litchi tea shots..please try this..if you visit them..a must try I would say.
Matcha Shake: The machas tea served with spicy samosas..really spicy I Would Say..and I did not like the Matcha shake, very milky as a I felt.
The mint flavoured tea also called the better wife ..you will come to know once you try..why they call it better wife after all ;);)..its refreshing.
Last but not the least, the Tisane Tea. The amazing brew and the color tells you that this is gonna be little strong and sure it was.
They have huge variety and I had an amazing time knowing about teas that has been a part of our lives since childhood but it was a different angle to look at teas. The Tea Trails ECR is the second outlet in Chennai and it’s been few days since it has started.
If you are Tea lover ..this place is for you and if you are a coffee lover, I would say beware ..cause you might change your mind after visiting this place(just kidding)
